Welcome 2008!!! To usher in the new year at Valley Momma.... I've decided to start having monthly contests! The first one of the year starts right now!

Prize:
Winner will receive one stuffed loopy tag ring toy AND also a set of car seat strap covers! The winner will get to pick whatever fabric they want from my fabric stash to make each of them! (and they don't have to be the same!)

sample pics:

How to Enter:
Post a comment to this Blog entry telling me your New Years Resolution for 2008! Please make sure there's a way for me to contact you if you're the winner!!

You can also get entered by making a purchase from my shop! You get one entry for each item purchased... so more items bought equals more entries!

How to Win:
On February 1, 2008 I'll put all the entries into a bowl, hat, whatever and let my 3 year old son draw one name from the lot! I'll then contact the winner and they will have 1 week to get back in touch with me or I'll have to draw another name!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

-- My new years resolution(s)...

1- Do not buy any new fabric unless I have a specific reason for it! (hahahahaha... I DON'T see this one being kept... I'm a fabric addict for sure.

2- Finally get the baby weight off!!

3- Be nicer to my kids. :) (and my husband, too I suppose... haha)
Happy New Years!

I haven't looked at much of your blog, but I like what I see from your shop.

I really don't like the term "resolution," but I have thought a lot about my life in relation to a quote from the movie "Facing the Giants." I've been thinking about "preparing for rain," and how I don't think my life is ready for some of the things I want. I believe I need to make some changes to be ready for what I want. My biggest goal is to keep my apartment cleaner.

Blessings,
Carrie

I absolutely love your stuff! I wish I had thought of those tags first! Even though I had made my daughter some strap covers myself, I had to buy some of yours just because they were so cool(and I couldn't steal such an awesome idea)! Your shop is beautiful I hope you do great on etsy!

Hi Bethysak. I think your tag rings are so cute. I love the fabrics you use. Bright and fun! I also like the background you picked for your blog. It was on my list of possibilities for mine. :o) They have so many cool ones at that site!
Hope you're having a great day!

I LOVE LVOE LOVE your loopy rings! I just hearted them the other day when I stumbled across one in SEARCH!

My resolution for my work is to keep my craft space clear every night, it's a nightmare to wake up to a giant mess in the office!!

In life, it's to lose all the baby weight! With 3 kids under 3 it was hectic!! But now we are done having babies and I want to show them that healthy is the way to be!!

My resolution? To never go to bed with a messy kitchen. My husband and I have been married for close to seven years and we've always let the dishes and pots and pans pile up in the sick. Things that belong in cabinets are left out on the counter. So far we've been sticking to it, and it's a great feeling to walk into a clean kitchen each morning! I've read it takes 30 days to get a habit in place, so we're almost there.

But what inspired this resolution is not that it's 2008, but that we're expecting our first baby in May...

Cheers!

Lol Beth! I love your 2008 goals! I think those fit me perfectly (except substitute fabric for beads, lol!) I do wish to be more organized, both at home and in my business. With a new baby coming soon--I HAVE to be more organized there! I also would like to be kinder in general to people, slower to get annoyed with other drivers on the road (lol), more tolerant of differences of opinion, that sort of thing=o)

Good luck to you in your resolutions/goals and in your beautiful creations you make!!

First, I love this loopy ring you made and the material is adorable!
ONE of my new years resolution has been to totally revamp my EtsyShop www.babybejeweled.etsy.com to make it look more professional and to create a website seperate from Etsy as well for my products. So far, my etsy is looking lots better after many tips on pictures and on promoting. Still working on the new website.

Dear Valley Momma,

I love your stuff. It is adorable.

I have several New Year's Resolutions and some ongoing Resolutions. They sound a great deal like yours.

1) Get the baby weight off and get back to 6 hours a week in the gym,

2) Keep the house picked up and ready to show,

3) Recruit the family to help with 2) since it mostly their stuff I am constantly picking up,

4) After 3) has made it into the routine, list the house for sale since my husband keeps telling me he wants to leave Houston,

5) Spend more quality time with my husband, including adding dance lessons back into our routine,

6) Promote my shop http://www.cindyjoy.etsy.com in a meaningful way and grow my business, and

7) Sew or otherwise make something every day.

The main ongoing resolution is to not buy fabric unless I need to and to find ways to use up the fabric I have.

Phew, that seems like a lot for one year. Is there going to be a follow up post required at the end of the year? ;>
